Why move to Prince George?

We call beautiful Prince George home sweet home. Located right in the centre of British Columbia, and the widely regarded “Gateway to the North”, Prince George is really the best of every world. A city of 78,000 people, it serves all of Northern BC, which means Prince George boasts the big city amenities that make life convenient while preserving its small-town sense of community.

Prince George has a rich food scene with dozens of well-loved independent restaurants across the city. It doesn’t matter what your taste is- gourmet bites, casual eats, bars and pubs, cozy cafes, artisan shops with everything from jams to bread and cupcakes, and even a doggy bakery or two for your furry friends- Prince George has something you can sink your teeth into.

Our sports clubs are always looking for new members and we love seeing new fans at the PG Cougars Hockey Games. Not to mention the incredible Hart Highlands Ski Hill, which is a family favourite in winter.

Clubs & Organizations

Prince George’s sense of community means more than waving hello to each other on the street (although we definitely do that as well). We have hundreds of clubs, groups, and other organizations that bring us together, and with so many to choose from, it’s easy to find one that will peak your interest.

Arts & Culture

Arts galleries, museums, two performing arts theatres, and even the PG Symphony Orchestra- there’s plenty of art and culture to enjoy in Prince George. If those aren’t your speed, there’s always a few music or street festivals or some upcoming concerts to look forward to.

Adventure in the Outdoors

One of our personal favourite reasons to live in Prince George is that it’s a great city for dogs and animal lovers. Smack dab in the middle of the open wilderness (and wildlife) that British Columbia is famous for, Prince George is within an hour of over 1600 lakes and rivers, surrounded by hundreds of hiking, biking, and walking trails, and just a car tip away from the mountains. Perfect for people with active lifestyles, and any animal friends that were born to run, climb, and swim.
