Mckayla

Office Manager

Mckayla came to Birchwood Vet with a strong background in kennel and daycare management, wanting to grow her skills in a veterinary setting. While she loved working with animals, she was looking for a role where she could make a bigger impact on their health and well-being. She was drawn to Birchwood Vet because of Ben and Mel’s commitment to raising the bar in pet care and supporting both animals and the people who care for them. Their approach felt like the perfect fit for her problem-solving mindset and passion for helping pets.

She holds college-accredited certifications in Kennel Management, Basic Obedience, and is a Master Trainer through Canada West Canine Centre. Her education includes studies in language arts, science, and human psychology, which have helped shape her approach to management and client care. Over the years, she’s managed busy kennels, run her own training business, and handled marketing; this has given her a well-rounded understanding of animal care and business operations.

Outside of work, Mckayla loves staying active with her dogs, whether it’s exploring new trails, camping, or paddleboarding. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and unwinding with movie marathons alongside her pups. Her ability to read and respond to animal behavior makes her a great asset to the team, helping pets feel comfortable and cared for at Birchwood Vet.
