In House Laboratory

Our full in house laboratory

Our full in house laboratory provides us with state of the art technology to better treat your furry family members in hospital without a delay in treatment.
We are able to perform complete blood chemistry screenings which help to assess our pets major abdominal organs & their function. A complete urinalysis, which gives us insight to their kidney function as well as ensuring they don’t have a bladder infection. A CBC (complete blood count) looks at your pets red blood cells and white blood cells which gives us information about anaemia, infections, certain cancers and more! Our Coag machine gives rapid results on bleeding times, something that is very important in emergency situations like a rat bait ingestion!

Under the microscope our RVT’s look at everything from tissue samples, to ear cytology, parasites & more.

Anything that we are not able to perform in house will be sent to an external laboratory in Vancouver or Alberta to be assessed by a board certified pathologist with a 3-7 day turnaround time.
